FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - 1.8 inches of snow officially in Fort Wayne this morning, with a little more snow to come. Much of the area saw a little more, with many reports in the two to three inch range. Tonight, there will be another round of snow, but in most cases we will see less than an inch of new accumulation. The biggest problem tonight (and straight through Wednesday) will be the wind and extreme cold. That combination will take wind chills into the range of -15 to -25 tonight, and at times over the next three days they could drop to -40. Monday night into Tuesday will be one of the coldest periods in Fort Wayne history, as Tuesday has a chance to become only the 11th day to fail to reach 0 for a high. Starting Thursday, we should come out of the deep freeze a little, but there is the possibility of more snow, after that.
